Join Riordan's Award-Winning Theatre Department.

Since the school’s founding in 1949, thousands of students have performed on the Lindland Theatre stage and thousands of audience members have traveled from across the Bay Area to see the latest production.

There are many ways to get involved in Riordan’s award-winning Theatre Department. You can take an acting class as part of Riordan’s regular academic curriculum, or you can participate in the fall play or spring musical.

Meet Our Theatre Director

Greg Callaghan

Biography:

A native San Franciscan, Mr. Callaghan happily returns to Riordan's Lindland theatre where he performed as an 8th grade student when the school needed a young boy for its spring musical. Mr. Callaghan is a graduate of St. Cecilia's and Saint Ignatius. He holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts and an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Education with an emphasis on Teaching and Learning With Technology from Santa Clara University. Mr. Callaghan has a diverse background in theatre and education; he has worked at Tony award winning Theatre companies, managed a scholarship for undocumented students at SCU, and most recently served as the Director of Student Activities at ICA Cristo Rey.

Personal teaching philosophy: I help students develop their individual voices, the confidence to express them, and the empathy to understand their impact onstage, offstage, and in the classroom. I am responsible for building relationships and a classroom culture that encourages students to make mistakes, reflect, and learn from and with each other
