Uniform Guidelines

DRESS CODE

Students  are required to be in approved Riordan uniform attire during the school day. The administration reserves the right to determine whether a student's appearance meets handbook expectations.

Enforcement / Elastic Clause

Students who violate the dress code may be assigned detention, may be required to miss class until the violation is corrected, or may be sent home. Any missed class time will be treated as a class cut or suspension. Repeated violations may result in additional disciplinary consequences, including suspension or Administrative Review.

ORDERING

Standard uniform items are available through our BSN Sports Store. The shop stays open year-round, so you can reorder anytime as your student grows or needs to replace a piece. Please plan ahead when you order: items typically ship in 3 to 5 weeks, so place your order well before the first day of school or any event you need it for.

Simply Uniform approved skirts can be hemmed to the bottom of the R logo and no higher. The location of the logo cannot be changed.

Dress Code

Grooming and Physical Appearance

Students must maintain a neat, clean, and school-appropriate appearance at all times. Facial hair is not permitted. Distracting, unnatural, extreme, or artificial hair coloring, bleaching, or dyeing is not allowed. Shaved lines or designs in haircuts, including on the eyebrow, are also prohibited. Hair must be neat, clean, presentable, must not impede vision, and must be kept out of the face. Students may be required to shave at school and given limited time to change hair; refusal may result in being sent home.

Piercings are limited to basic ear piercings only. Piercings of the nose, lip, eyebrow, mouth, face, hands, or other areas are not permitted, regardless of size, color, or material. Skin-tone, clear, placeholder, or bandage-covered substitutes are also not allowed. Students will be asked to remove prohibited piercings. If a student refuses or is unable to do so, the student may be sent home.

Tattoos must be covered during school hours or when representing Riordan in any capacity, including during sports. Students are prohibited from having unsafe or unclean nails, excessive jewelry, dangling or hanging chains, or any accessories that could be considered dangerous or used as a weapon.
