Brisia Castillo '26

Brisia Castillo is a senior at Archbishop Riordan High School whose journey as a Crusader has been shaped by connection, service, and opportunity. Brisia began her education at St. Peter’s in the Mission, following in the footsteps of family members who attended Riordan. From the moment she stepped onto campus, she felt at home. She recalls attending a band event off-campus before officially enrolling and being drawn to the energy, spirit, and sense of belonging that defines life at Riordan.

As a Crusader, Brisia has fully embraced the school’s mission of leadership and service. She serves on the Knights Team, guiding eighth-grade students and their families on tours, participates in choir, is a leader on the CORE Team responsible for food and clothing drives, plays on the soccer team, contributes as a photographer for the school newspaper, and is an active member of the National Honor Society. Through these experiences, she has seen firsthand the care and dedication of teachers and students alike—qualities that make Riordan a truly special place.

Brisia says the first word that comes to mind when thinking of Riordan is community. She feels it in classrooms, at athletic events, and throughout school gatherings, where students and faculty take care of one another. She feels especially grateful for teachers like Ms. Kim Loder, who demonstrates care for every student, and Mr. Jack Reardon, whose enthusiasm and thoughtful teaching in science inspires all learners.

Looking ahead and inspired by her desire to serve others, Brisia will be in the first generation of her family to attend college, an achievement that fills her and her loved ones with immense pride. She hopes to pursue a career in nursing and is excited to continue learning, gaining the knowledge and hands-on experience that will allow her to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.. Brisia credits Riordan’s Marianist values with shaping her into a compassionate, confident young woman of faith—ready to lead with kindness, purpose, and care as she embarks on the next chapter of her journey.
