Academically, Riordan is single gender.
Socially, we are co-ed.
While Riordan offers an all-boys learning environment, after school there are numerous co-ed opportunities. The development of the whole student—academically, spiritually and socially—is a core value of Archbishop Riordan High School.
Our school enjoys a collaborative relationship with several all-girls high schools in the Bay Area, including Mercy San Francisco, ICA, Convent of the Sacred Heart, Notre Dame Belmont, and Mercy Burlingame.
Students Can Participate in Inter-School Events:
- Community Service Projects
- Drama and Music Productions
- Spirit Rallies
- Riordan Band (Color Guard)
- Masses and Retreats
- Leadership Development Conferences
- College Visits
- Other Social Opportunities
Marianist Crusader Choir
The Marianist Crusader Choir is a collaboration between Riordan, Mercy SF, and ICA from all four grade levels to form a more improved and diverse musical ensemble. Though Riordan’s Chorale only performs at school Masses, this mixed choir performs at various events outside of school, such as the Embarcadero Tree Lighting, benefit concerts, and singing for the Archbishop, which allows them to offer their vocal gifts for a greater cause. For more information about how to join, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
More information will be announced soon about Riordan’s fall play, Perfect Storm II: Student-Directed One-Act Festival, including parts available for female leads. View photos from recent shows, “How to Succeed in Business (Without Really Trying)” and “Urinetown.”
Riordan Color Guard
The Color Guard, a collaboration between Riordan, Mercy SF, and ICA, is a key ensemble of the Marching Band and participates in all major parades, international performances and competitions. Color guard is always looking for new recruits. Those interested should contact Director of Bands Mr. Kyle Hildebrant, email@example.com.
