Blessed Jacob Gapp Service Recognition

Blessed Jakob Gapp is a Marianist martyr who was persecuted by the Nazis for his open criticism of Hitler and his support of the Vatican newspaper: the Tablet.  The Blessed Jakob Gapp Award is the highest service recognition that a graduate can receive. The awardee must embody the genuine and strong spirit of SERVIAM in contributing to the betterment of the community.

Criteria for this award:

  • A graduating (Male/Female) student;
  • A recipient of “The Marianist Award”;
  • Amongst the top in his/her class for both Service to the School on-campus) & Service to the Community (off-campus) opportunities;
  • Feedback from agencies regarding the student’s work ethic and attitude;
  • In good standing with academics and discipline;
  • Decided by the Director of Campus Ministry and Community Service Program Coordinator based on the criteria aforementioned.

The award recipient receives a certificate and his/her name goes on the perpetual plaque in the Main Office lobby area to recognize his/her service.  I requested to have the same-looking plaque for all the senior perpetual award recipients, rather than everyone having different-looking ones.
