*Applications received after the deadline will be reviewed on a rolling basis and as space permits.
In addition to filling out our online application, we ask that you submit the following documents in order to be considered by our admissions team:
- $100 non-refundable application fee
- Photocopy of Applicant’s Passport
- Two Confidential Recommendation Forms (Click here to download forms)
- Transcript of Grades from Previous/Current School (Must be translated into English)
- Guardianship Form indicating legal guardian in the San Francisco/Bay Area (Click here to download form)
- English Proficiency Testing: All international students must submit official scores from TOEFL, TOEFL Junior (grades 9 and 10 only), IELTS or SSAT to Archbishop Riordan High School. Our school codes are:
The TOEFL, TOEFL Junior (grades 9 and 10 only), or IELTS is a requirement for all applicants whose first language is not English. The SSAT is NOT required but strongly recommended. If you are applying for Riordan’s Engineering Program, the SSAT is required.
If you are applying to be an International Day Student you must also complete the above requirements.

For families interested in taking a tour of campus, please contact the Director of International Admissions Ms. Betta Barbosa, email@example.com, at least two weeks prior to your visit.
International students are required to interview with an admissions representative from Archbishop Riordan High School. We prefer that a student come to campus for the interview. If this is not possible, we will accommodate a cyber broadcast interview once the application is complete and received by the school. You will be contacted directly by a member of our staff to schedule an interview.
Visa and Guardian Information
If a student is accepted to the Archbishop Riordan Boarding Program, the school will issue an I-20 after receipt of the signed enrollment contract, required deposit and signed Guardianship Form. Each family is required to designate an adult living in the San Francisco Bay Area as a guardian for the student in the event of an emergency or to provide lodging during school breaks. Parents are responsible for finding their child’s guardian.
ESL Program Placement
This placement will be based on your application, interview, and TOEFL score. You may also be asked to take the English Language Placement Test, which is administered at Riordan High School during the first week of school.
