Summer Reading 2025

The Academics Office is excited to announce this year's summer reading selection for all students: Patron Saints of Nothing by local author Randy Ribay.

Set in contemporary times and grounded in real-world issues, this compelling novel is part mystery and part family saga. Against a backdrop that challenges perceptions and opens hearts, this award-winning story explores both timely and timeless themes such as identity, morality, cultural heritage, justice, truth, family dynamics, and the search for personal belonging. Through powerful storytelling and rich cultural insights, Ribay invites readers on a deeply personal journey of self-discovery that resonates broadly.

All students are required to read the book over the summer and complete two assessments, which must be submitted by the first day of classes in August. These assessments have been thoughtfully created by a team of teachers to foster critical thinking and meaningful discussions as we begin the school year.

We look forward to beginning the new academic year with this thought-provoking and unforgettable read.
