Academics
Riordan delivers a path to success for all learners.
Archbishop Riordan High School is committed to 21st century learning that includes leading curricular innovation and exploring alternative instruction and assessment. Our dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate faculty meets our students where they are, supporting them to individual excellence.
Rigorous Curriculum
At Riordan’s core is a rigorous academic program, which prepares all students to be college ready. Though a diversity of learning styles exists, with the right motivation and support, every student has the tools to be successful in the next phase of their education.
Support
Students can receive multiple levels of support from the school community. This includes dedicated office hours with faculty, peer tutoring opportunities, and general encouragement to seek the academic help they need.
" At Riordan, teachers and my fellow Crusaders have motivated me
to do bigger things than anything I imagined. "

Technology
The objectives of technology at Riordan are simple: support enhanced learning opportunities for students and produce good digital citizens equipped to navigate the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
It is critical that students leave Riordan not only with an understanding of how technical elements, but also how technology can positively and negatively impact the world around us.
UC Eligibility and City College Access
A Riordan student’s academic course load will not merely fulfill University of California and California State University requirements, it will exceed them, allowing more time for additional electives.
Students also have the option to take university-level courses at City College of San Francisco, located directly across the street from Riordan’s campus.
AP COURSES
Riordan offers 15 Advanced Placement courses to qualified sophomore, junior, and senior students. In addition to offering more challenging and faster-paced curriculum, these courses culminate with the AP exam in May, which if completed successfully, confers advanced standing and actual credit toward a baccalaureate degree at over 1,500 colleges and universities.
