R VOICES: Eva Abbott ‘25 - Cross Country State Qualifier

What I love most about Riordan is the strong sense of community, from the sports teams to the clubs and friendships I’ve formed. I chose Riordan for its RSP program, which has been crucial in helping me navigate my dyslexia and ADHD. This school has fostered an environment where I can thrive academically and grow personally.

As the captain of the cross country and track team, I embraced a new passion for running after trying out for track in my sophomore year, despite never having participated in sports before. My work ethic really sets me apart—I’m determined and proud of the effort I’ve put in.

One of my most memorable moments at Riordan was qualifying for the state championships in cross country last fall. The school celebrated my achievement by displaying my name in the hallway, which made me feel truly valued. I’m incredibly grateful for the support from my counselors, teachers, and cross country coaches—they’ve been with me every step of the way. Riordan has helped me discover my strengths and passions, which I plan to pursue in college.
