On Sunday, April 14, Michael Gray ’20 participated again in the Lion Speech competition and won a the top prize. This is the farthest a Riordan student has gone in this competition, and Michael is on track to win the grand prize scholarship of $21,000. Kudos to Michael as well as Student Activities Director Joey Klobas who helped him prepare for this competition.

At the 16th annual Jim Calabretta Essay Contest hosted by the Youth Men’s Institute of San Francisco, Riiny Riiny ’20 and Vince Francisco ’19 won third and fourth place, respectively, and also took home a cash prize. Their essay topic was: “Describe a significant challenge or obstacle you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge.”
