On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the Development Department of Archbishop Riordan High School we would like to thank every member of our community who has supported our mission. Each year we ask all alumni, parents, faculty, and friends to support ARHS by making a gift to the Annual Fund. The monies raised during the Annual Fund drive are used to sustain educational programs and projects, directly benefiting our students. The following are some highlights of what the Annual Fund and other fundraising activities are being used for at Riordan:
- Providing scholarships to students, many of whom might not otherwise have access to a college preparatory Catholic education.
- Raising the Archbishop Riordan High School Endowment Fund to $5,000,000.
- Breaking ground for The Carl Gellert and Celia Berta Gellert Ministry and Technology Center, Lecture Hall and Visual Arts Center through the efforts of our $5 million dollar Legacy of Hope Capital Campaign.
- Strengthening many of the sports divisions, such as the 2007 ARHS Football Team, who rolled through three straight Medium School Division playoff games to win its first Central Coast Section Championship and the 2008 Varsity Basketball team who also won the Central Coast Section Division III Championship title.
- Purchasing a new eight-passenger van for our student transportation.
- Installing new student lockers through the annual Student Fundraiser.
Many of our donations come through our online service.
The Capital Campaign, “Fulfilling the Legacy of Hope”, has reached the $4.1 million mark! Rev. Thomas J. French, S.M., President and the Archbishop Riordan High School Board of Trustees hosted a exclusive groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, April 10, 2008, heralding the start of construction of the “Legacy of Hope” Academic Building Expansion that includes a state-of-the-art Lecture Hall, The Carl Gellert and Celia Berta Gellert Ministry Center and Student and Faculty Technology Center, Visual Arts Center and Memorial Garden. The project is expected to be completed in November 2008. If you would like more information on capital projects or a naming opportunity for different areas in the school, please
Archbishop Riordan High School was privileged to welcome more than 320 guests to the Purple and Gold "Salutes The City by the Bay" Gala on February 23, 2008. This year's elegant event and 7th annual fundraiser for ARHS was held at the Hyatt Regency, Burlingame. Madeline, Bill ‘62 and Dan ‘72 Duggan chaired this year’s gala, and the Duggan Family was honored for their service to countless families in their time of need, and also for their ongoing support of Archbishop Riordan High School. The event raised $90,000 for the “Legacy of Hope” Building project.
We hope that you will consider making a gift that will help us continue to provide an outstanding education to the young men of Archbishop Riordan High School.
