Social Science Department The Social Science Department of Archbishop Riordan High School aligns its curriculum with the goals of the National Council for the Social Studies. The department strives to integrate the study of social sciences and humanities to develop the growth of young men in the Marianist tradition. The goal of the department is to help young men develop the ability to make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society. Goal achievement is through application of a diverse curriculum comprising the studies of geography, world history, economics, psychology, American History, and American Government.
