Selection Criteria
Many students apply to the Resource Specialist Program to receive special education
services. Therefore, students are carefully selected to ensure their proper
educational placement.
Each prospective student’s documentation and application materials are
evaluated based on the following information:
The status of each student’s mild to moderate special learning needs.
The student has shown evidence of progress with special education support in
his previous and current school settings.
The student shows evidence that he can cope in a non-specialized classroom
environment with the specific services provided by ARHS.
The student’s ability to succeed in a college-preparatory curriculum.
Only applicants (and his parent/guardian) to the Resource Specialist Program
who meet the above criteria will be interviewed to further determine if ARHS
can fully service them.
