Julie Smiley

Julie Smiley received her B.A. in Visual Arts and Communication Arts from Gordon College, Boston, MA in 1999. Prior to teaching, she worked as a freelance artist with private and public commissions, a grant writer for a public school district, and an arts education coordinator for a non-profit arts agency. Finding in this work a passion for students, the visual arts and social justice, she earned her teaching credential in 2003.  In 2008 she will receive her Masters in Arts Education from Ohio State University. Besides teaching Visual Arts I-IV, Julie continues to work on her own commissioned art and paintings.
