The Archbishop Riordan Concert Band has grown to extraordinary heights over the past couple years. The group performs at the school's Christmas and Spring concerts, band reviews, and the Catholic Schools concert with Serra, St. Francis, and Moreau Catholic High Schools. The concert band has always been evaluated in an annual competition held by CMEA. In 2008, the concert band captured the Superior Ranking with their thrilling selections, "Sedona", "In This Quiet Place", and "Into the Storm", the band's favorite piece. This was only Riordan's second Superior Ranking!

This past school year in Spring of 2010, the Wind Ensemble scored three superiors in performance playing "Hounds of Spring", "In a Gentle Rain", and the 2010-2011 march selection, "Pride of the Fleet". This set another record for the concert band program at Archbishop Riordan High School. The band narrowly missed a Unanimous Superior Ranking. The first Superior Ranking that Riordan's concert band received was in 1956. The Riordan Concert Band will surely take this momentum into the next band season, competing in band review concert venues and hopefully competing in the spring band reviews as well.
