Submit a Help Desk Trouble Ticket

Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, we are pleased to offer the following technology services:

Archbishop Riordan High School has launched a new online service that will allow parents and guardians to monitor their son's lunchtime purchases, track what he has been eating for the past 30 days, verify retreat and ticket sales, make deposits directly into his Crusader Cash account, transfer funds between students (if you have more than one son in attendance) and have an email reminder sent to you when an account balance gets low.

Students will then be able to purchase any meal or pay any student activities fee (i.e.: dance ticket, retreat fee, prep shop garment, etc.) by simply placing their index finger on our system's biometric scanner. The system does not store your son's fingerprint, but instead creates 30 unique points that are specific to his profile, based on his finger. No forensic data is recorded at any time.

Enrollment Fee ::

There is an enrollment fee of $30.00 per student, which will be charged when you set up your online account (please see the steps below). This system will be mandatory in the cafeteria on January 10, 2012 when we return to school following the holiday break.

Students that choose not to use the system will only have access to the vending machines in the cafeteria. We will also allow a transitional period of the Spring semester (2012) for families for dances, retreats and student activities by check, money order, or credit card. Beginning in August, 2012, all dance tickets, retreats and student activities will be run through the Crusader Cash system.

Loading Money onto Your Son's Account ::

Student debit account deposits can be made online through ACH payments, easily from your checking or savings account. This means that you link your checking (or savings) account to your Crusader Cash account through the secure web site (please see below). We do not auto-debit your checking or savings account, as only you have access to your accounts and you choose how much and when to move funds. Each student's account will be updated nightly so that account balance information and payments will be current as of the following day. This means that if you load money onto your son's account that morning, the funds will not be available this same day, but will be active on his account the next day.

In order to take advantage of this convenient new service, you will need to create a parent account. This requires you to:

  • 1. Go to www.myschoolaccount.com". (Also located on the Riordanhs.org web site, under the Quick Links: Parents side menu).
  • 2. Click "Create Account" on the top menu bar.
  • 3. Fill in the required information on the "Parent Account Sign-Up page."
  • 4. Choose Archbishop Riordan High School from the "School District" drop down menu.
  • 5. Create a User ID and Password.
  • 6. Click the "Accept" box, and then click "Signup." An email will be sent to your email address that will contain a "verification code."

After you receive the "verification code" you may begin to add your son's information. To do this, you will need to:

  • 1. Go to www.myschoolaccount.com" and login using your previously created user ID and password.
  • 2. Enter the "verification code" to verify your account and email address.
  • 3. Begin adding your student's information according to the guidelines provided. You will need each of your student's ID numbers (the same ID number assigned to your son through Power School and on his Student ID Card) to add each student.
  • 4. After the students are added you will be able to view the lunch account activity and make payments to the student lunch account.

Note: A parent account can be linked to many children, but a child can only be linked to one parent.

We urge you to take full advantage of this system by making deposits into your student's accounts on a weekly, monthly, or annual basis. You are free to choose the amount of each deposit.

Note: There will be a $2.00 per transaction convenience fee associated with each deposit. This fee is charged by our service provider. We recommend making a single monthly transfer to reduce the number of $2.00 service fee charges.

Beginning in August 2011, all students will be issued their own Riordan email account through our primary domain name, riordanhs.info. Partnered with Google Applications for Education, ARHS not only gives students a direct point of electronic communication for their academic needs, they will also have full access to the Google for Education Application platform.

Students access their email login by going to the Archbishop Riordan web site at http://www.riordanhs.info/ and navigating to the "quick links" menu, located on the right-hand side of all pages of the web site. Students click on the "Students" link and then on "Student Email Login"  from the expanded menu.

All student email accounts utilize the following nomenclature: the student's first letter of their first name, their full last name and their graduation year, followed by @riordanhs.info. As an example, John Smith who is an incoming freshman in the Fall of 2011, and will therefore graduate in 2015, would have the email address of jsmith2015@riordanhs.info. Each student is given their email login and password during student orientation or at their entrance point if that occurs at a latter time.

Beginning in August 2011, all students have individual access to Riordan's Google for Education Application platform. Once logged into their Riordan email account, they simply navigate to the "Documents" tab inside their email interface, located at the top-left of their display, for full access to the online application suite of software.

This cloud-based software suite includes a word processing program (Document), a spreadsheet program (Spreadsheet), presentation software (Presentation), a program to create forms (Forms), and a graphic design program (Drawing). Google explains their suite of online software as "Web-based documents, spreadsheets, drawings and presentations that let users edit the same file at the same time so you always have the latest version." This also means that students always have a powerful office suite anywhere they have an internet connection, allowing them access to their school work, home work, research projects and term papers. Faculty members utilize this same system to create virtual, shared documents, research projects and interactive learning environments with their entire class in real-time.

Archbishop Riordan was one of the first schools in the United States to use the interactive online Power School system when it was first offered many years ago. Today, all of the faculty take attendance, track tardiness, input grades and home work scores directly into the secure Power School system. Parents and students each have their own login to access their account, see live attendance, scores and overall GPA. Pearson Education, the owner of Power School, explains the platform as "PowerSchool is the fastest-growing, most widely used web-based student information system, supporting nearly 10 million students in all 50 states and more than 60 countries. PowerSchool enables today's educators to make timely decisions that impact student performance while creating a collaborative environment for parents, teachers and students to work together in preparing 21st century learners for the future."

To access the Power School login, simply navigate to the Archbishop Riordan web site at http://www.riordanhs.info/ and then mouse to the "quick links" menu, located on the right-hand side of all pages of the web site. Students click on the "Students" link and then on "PowerSchool Login" from the expanded menu. Likewise, parents and guardians navigate to the "quick links" menu, located on the right-hand side of all pages of the web site. They then click on the "Parents" link and then on "PowerSchool Login"  from the expanded menu.

Login and password information is given out by the main office during orientation each semester. For problems with your login account to PowerSchool, please contact the main office at 415-586-8200.

Archbishop Riordan utilizes the power and educational resource of the industry leader in assisting students with their writing through Turn-It-In, "Turnitin improves the student writing cycle by preventing plagiarism and providing rich feedback to students." Students and faculty have 24/7 access to this online system by simply going to the Archbishop Riordan web site at http://www.riordanhs.info/ and navigating to the "quick links" menu, located on the right-hand side of all pages of the web site.
